5.5m Class Racing Keel Boat

GBR41 is a 5.5m class racing keel boat. The hull is 9.6 m long - the '5.5' refers to a class rule formula involving the boat's rating length L, displacement D and sail area S.

 

The rule states that the output of the formula cannot exceed 5.5 metres. As a result each 5.5m boat is unique. GBR41's hull is a sandwich-structured composite with a cedar core and glass skins.
