ABOUT US

Our history

One2three is an independent design house by a small group of seasoned pioneers within Australia's maritime industry. It began life as Quigley Marine Designs in 1997, evolving into One2three Naval Architects in 2005.  With the desire to cultivate “a great company, not a big one”, One2Three has matured into a core team of 18 Naval Architects and experience drafts-people based in Sydney

The design team at One2three has over three decades of experience in the maritime industry and have designed over 300 vessels in 30+ countries. The team’s experience extends well beyond the office, with tens of thousands of sea-miles and years spent on the shipyard floor.

Meet the team

One2three is widely recognised as one of the most innovative and technically competent design teams in the world. Our team is made up of a multi-disciplined group of Naval Architects, drafts people, 3D creatives and CAD designers.

Our success comes from close collaboration, team spirit and a culture of inclusivity which is at the very core of our company. Equality and neurodiversity are valued qualities in our employees and our workplace. Bold thoughts, wild imaginations and creative ingenuity are essential characteristics to our success.

Sydney

Based in the 1901 historic Cooperage building (built to manufacture barrels for storing rum) on the banks of Sydney Harbour, One2three Naval Architects offers a full design service to reflect each client’s dreams. Our light-filled studio is designed to inspire our team with open plan workspaces.

Our achievements

Our combined achievements include the development and successful commercialisation of world-first projects, such as "Triumphant" – a 55m 40+ knot trimaran ferry – and motoryacht "White Rabbit" – the world's-first 60m trimaran motoryacht. Our highly-efficient hull forms and advanced design technology resulted in design team members winning the coveted Red Funnel project (the oldest operating ferry company in the world) and many other discerning operators where fuel efficiency is a high priority.
